Recognizing Signs of Abuse & Neglect

Warning signs of physical, emotional, or financial exploitation in domestic care settings.

Physical Indicators: Unexplained bruises, welts, burns, bedsores, or frequent hospitalizations with inconsistent explanations.
Emotional Behavioral Changes: Sudden withdrawal from conversation, heightened fear or agitation around a specific caregiver, or unusual regression.
Financial Red Flags: Unexplained ATM withdrawals, sudden changes in wills or power of attorney designations, or missing household property.
Mandatory Reporting: If you suspect immediate danger, call 911. For elder abuse, contact Adult Protective Services immediately.
